The Camp
Okavango Origins is a fixed camp in the northern Okavango Delta with four upscale guest tents, and a central dining tent and lounge. All tents include ensuite bathrooms with pressurized hot water and flush toilets. We use comfortable, full size beds and every tent is equipped with electricity for lighting, fans, and charging electronics.
Upscale Comfort Deep in the Delta
Okavango Origins is located on a small channel deep within the Okavango Delta. Our peaceful and beautiful location hosts stunning wildlife and a quiet, comfortable camp that features the natural environment.

All guest tents have full sized beds that can be set up as two Twins or a single King. We use quality linens with decor inspired by the wildlife and cultures of the northern Okavango Delta.

All tents have solar powered lights, fans, and plug-points to charge electronics.

Every tent is equipped with an ensuite bathroom, with a flush toilet, and pressurized, on-demand hot water for the sink and shower.

Relax between activities or enjoy our freshly prepared meals in the central lounge and dining area.

It’s easy to work up an appetite on safari. Our trained chef will make sure that all guests enjoy freshly cooked meals and cold drinks on an all-inclusive basis.

We understand that connectivity is important, and while we hope that you will take the time to unplug and be present while at Okavango Origins, we do provide satellite internet in camp.

Our gameviewer vehicles are top of the line and custom built to our specifications. On safari, you spend a lot of time on game drives, so high quality vehicles greatly add to the experience. We use open sided vehicles with a flip down windscreen, giving guests unobstructed views of wildlife. All game viewers have plug points, bucket seats, adjustable arm rests that can be used as camera rests, and more. We allow a maximum of 6 guests in a game viewer, so that you always have a “window” seat.

On game drives, we take a maximum of 6 guests per vehicle, so that everyone is guaranteed a “window” seat. Unlike in national parks, our concession location allows for responsible off-roading and tracking, leading to frequent and unforgettable wildlife sightings. We also offer guided walks, where you can get up close to the wonders of the Okavango Delta. Our experienced guides will share their extensive knowledge and deep passion for this remarkable landscape, ensuring you have an immersive and educational experience.
But our offerings go beyond wildlife encounters and nature exploration. Location
Okavango Origins is a fixed camp in the northern Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is considered by many to be the top safari destination in the world. It is known for exceptional game and a high-value, low-density model that means you will see lots of animals and few people.
We operate within the NG12 concession in the northern Okavango Delta. NG12 is an extremely remote area, notable for its world-class wildlife. The diversity of habitat, including permanent rivers and lagoons, seasonal floodplains, grassland, and mixed woodlands, makes our operating area among the best for diversity and density of game. We enjoy excellent density of predators including lions, leopards, cheetah, and especially wild dogs. Elephant populations are high, and general game densities are excellent. In addition to mammals, the area boasts an astounding richness of bird species.
Because we are located within a concession, we can put our guide’s bushman skills to use. This means that we can ethically track animals and off-road to find them. This means that we have a much higher rate of sightings, and the quality of sightings are vastly improved. Whether you are a photographer or just making memories, you will greatly appreciate the difference that our location within the concession makes.
In addition to tracking and off-roading, our location in the NG12 concession means that we are allowed to conduct game walks and night drives, which are generally prohibited within national parks.
We Are From Gudigwa
Okavango Origins is based out of Gudigwa Village, a Bukakhwe Bushman village that borders NG12 and features ownership from the village. We employ people from the community, pay fair wages, and contribute over 5% of our gross revenue to community projects.
